Making it smaller may reduce the torque at the head. Neater will that is in the eye of the beholder. I think you did well it is clean and most importantly functional. Members dikman Posted Sunday at 11:03 PM Members Report Posted Sunday at 11:03 PM Definitely not pretty , but yes, functional. Using a cam to operate the push rod, which could be shorter, is what I have in mind, just an idea kicking around. Members MarshalWill Posted 18 hours ago Members Report Posted 18 hours ago It looks good. Nice design. Good function. Can't ask for much more than that. Quote
Members dikman Posted 11 hours ago Members Report Posted 11 hours ago Thanks Will, I've been experimenting with using a cam to do the pushing, it seemed to me it should be a more "elegant" approach but it ended up pretty clumsy trying to get the travel required. It seems the pivot/linkage is the best way to go (that's the method used in a couple of commercial units I found). Members MarshalWill Posted 6 hours ago Members Report Posted 6 hours ago It works with a simple mechanism. Elegance is sometimes found in simple. Quote
