Members Darren8306 Posted September 20 Members Report Posted September 20 Beautiful work. Not the sling I usually see. Are they for a specific type of use? Beautiful work. Not the sling I usually see. Are they for a specific type of use? The hunting ones I've seen are all joined at 2 points. Quote

Members Dwight Posted September 20 Members Report Posted September 20 A single point sling has several advantages . . . the biggest of which allows you to pass the caretaking of the firearm to either arm effortlessly and quickly. Makes for entering or leaving a doorway very easy . . . as well as meandering thru bushes . . . or trails where overgrowth can get in the way. Allows one to reach down and pick up something on the ground or a table . . . without the possibility of stubbing the muzzle in the mud. I put a ring on the left side of my M1A just below the rear sight . . . and I love my single point sling when I'm carrying the rifle . . . the weight around the neck does not bother me as much as trying to carry it on a shoulder. it is also MUCH MUCH quicker to put into action than any other sling I've ever tried to use. May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, . . . thank a veteran. www.dwightsgunleather.com

CFM chuck123wapati Posted September 21 CFM Report Posted September 21 great job!! A bit heavy leather, IMO, but hey, they look fantastic and should work well. I would suggest, using these clips made specifically for the job if you do any more of them. I have had the ones you used snag the thumbpiece and open just on my suspenders. https://www.ebay.com/itm/171369888626?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338590836&toolid=10044&loc_physical_ms=101688&customid=32c1eb99c2f11fb7b82f83561eeeacea I always liked the 3-point sling for tactical carry, and I use the M1907 rifle sling on all my long-range guns, so they all fit the same. Members DocReaper Posted September 21 Members Report Posted September 21 These are works of art, looks like you could use it to do pull-ups with. I'm impressed with the look more than the function Quote Doc Reaper
PastorBob Posted September 22 Report Posted September 22 Those are really nice! I have never tried one of those slings. You may have inspired me to take a crack at one. Thanks.
