I came across a youtube video which I think should be a must view for anyone that uses a sewing machine, domestic or industrial. It helps eliminate the black magic of how stitches (chain-stitch and lock stitch) are formed with a history of the development of sewing machines in very simple terms. Ever wonder why the long grove is on needles??

Cool video. Me as a sewing machine idjit wonders what machine is using these feet shown in minute 0.11 - 0.14. 😗 looks singerish but not 111w feet I´d say.

I really enjoyed this video, the person that made this video had to go thru and dig up most of this history. The models made for the presentation took some time as well, hats off to the maker of this awesome video!
