Special Holster for Special Friend

A good friend wanted a cross draw for his 1911 . . . black . . . with a thumb break.

My favorite suggestion for that is the slip-cake style . . . which I made for him.

Added a concho to kind of dress it up a tad . . . thought about white stitches . . . makes it too conspicuous . . . 

Anyway . . . here's the finished product.

Here you are . . . the rivets you see are holding the card for the thumb break

The extra holes are where I anticipated the thumb break would go . . . had to move it . . . sheesh . . .

HaHaHa, Yup, boy I understand the "Anticipated". Gets ya right in the....

I was wondering if it wasn't a thumb break strap. I'm a big fan of them myself. I have a hard time with any holster design that doesn't have a security strap of some sort.

I want to feel confident the individual can do a summersault, get thrown from a horse, fall of a rock, dance with their grandkid, what ever and their pistol will be secure.

Thank you sir for the photo. The belt loops aren't what I was expecting. Nice design..

It feels like it was made with soul and for a specific person. The thing is not just functional, but with character and mood. The detail with the concho looks apt — a small accent, but it really enlivens the work. I like it.

Yeah . . . he's one of the last of the good guys . . . 

He's never failed to help out when he could . . .  I first knew his grandfather . . . then his dad . . . now him . . . and both of his kids . . . as well as his 3 grandsons.

Very nice. I need to make a 1911 holster for a friend that's wrong-handed. I need to keep my mind on it when laying it out. I already have a right-handed one.
