David Report post Posted January 13, 2008 Dave, looks like you got your work cut out for you this evening. Looks real good. I did like the look of the skull though.KenHey Ken,I liked the skull idea too, but I only like to do very realistic skulls and I didn't feel I could get enough line work detail in the skull to satisfy me. SO coins it is.DaveVery nice! I like the way you made the carving stand out by not using a lot of background. The sword looks old & realistic.Kat FryeHi Kay,Thanks for taking the time to look and respond. I really like the look of your embroidery on suede. A really great idea. Have to show that the my wife.....Thanks again,Dave
David Report post Posted January 13, 2008 After a very leisurely Saturday evening and Sunday morning of lacing, the seat is pretty much finished and waiting for stain and finish. Feedback and suggestions always welcome. Dave Theobald

The black rivets were still too small to use without a washer, I didn't get any yet because everyone wants me to order 10000 of them.....That would last me a lifetime. Art Report post Posted January 14, 2008 Hi David, Audaces fortuna iuvat, from the Aeneid by Virgil, a Roman poet. Illiad, Odessey, Aeneid, same genre, just a bunch or Greeks and Trojans running around wuppin' ass and violating the local virgins (male and female). Art This is the latest custom order that I started on tonight. I didn't inquire the meaning behind the seat, I'll have to ask about it when I deliver the seat. Feel free to critique or make suggestions.Needless to say the tooling is not complete. Dave

Dave i thought i sent you some of the larger dia rivets so you would not need the washer? pretty sure they were 3/16" instead of 1/8" and mcmaster will sell box quantities most are 100, 250 and 500 pieces
Roger Report post Posted January 14, 2008 (edited) forgot to add... business is picking up! i prolly have enough to keep me busy for about two months but, we'll see. i am finishing up that plain set (seat, p-pad and backrest) with the round braid. i'll post some pics later on. he also wants a larger lined bag. it will take some time as i will have to figure out a template Edited January 14, 2008 by beezachoppa

You did send me some larger black rivets but the holes in those West Eagle seat pans will require an expanded rivet head in excess of 3/16" to prevent pull through. The ones you sent pulled through after expansion. I'll check out the source that you gave me. I like that fact that you can buy in smaller quantities, I sure don't need 10000 rivets of any size. Thanks Dave Edited January 14, 2008 by David
David Report post Posted January 14, 2008 Roger, So glad to hear that business is picking up. Maintaining a 2 month backlog is just about right. Customers won't look elsewhere if they have to wait two months and you can work at your own pace. Congrats, Dave Oh did you ever spring for the sewing machine? Roger Report post Posted January 14, 2008 Oh did you ever spring for the sewing machine? not yet.. i found a local place but, need to stop in and talk to them. i am busy enough at the moment that i would not have time to use it. tool bag.... i enjoy the end result but, they are much work and i really don't charge near enough to where i would want to do more
David Report post Posted January 28, 2008 This last weekend's weather was barely warm enough to apply stain in my garage.....So I finally finished up this seat. Dave

What color did you use for it? Hey Spider, Thanks for looking at the seats. The colors are Tandy Pro dye medium brown around the edge fading to buckskin in the center of the seat....Sheridan antiquing paste was then added.
