Members CitizenKate Posted April 21, 2009 Members Report Posted April 21, 2009 This is a YouTube video that someone shared with me recently. It's from "Britain's Got Talent". Evidently, they do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luRmM1J1sfg Kate Quote
Ian Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Imagine all the super talent that is hidden in tiny towns and villages all over the world that no one will ever see or hear. It's funny, I was having this discussion with my sister last night. My point was that talent is never wasted unless your only measure of success is public acclaim or financial gain. Somehow, in the material world, fame seems to be the pricipal measure of success. This lady has probably gotten great joy from her talent since she was 12 and while her recognition on BGT is wonderful, it doesn't make her talent in obscurity any less relevent. Quote
Members CitizenKate Posted April 22, 2009 Author Members Report Posted April 22, 2009 Very true, Ian. Good observation. But I have to admit I was very inspired by it. Kate Quote
Members wildrose Posted April 22, 2009 Members Report Posted April 22, 2009 I was annoyed our local paper called her a Brit! She clearly says she's from Scotland. Quote

Members flyingcuda Posted April 22, 2009 Members Report Posted April 22, 2009 Wow!!! ok...admit it...whose eyes were getting a little damp when they heard her, mine did...that's how i know when a musician has hit that inner cord and not just my ear drum. kinda sad though...that she hasn't found her soul mate Quote
Members wildrose Posted April 22, 2009 Members Report Posted April 22, 2009 Okay, I sit corrected then....LOL! Quote
HorsehairBraider Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 I love this story because not only is this lady very talented, she is a genuine, sweet person who really DESERVES a big break like this. Imagine, spending her life dedicated to the care of her parents... so many people would not do it. The video makes me cry because she sings so well, and because she truly sings from the heart. I hope she makes a million bucks off this chance... I hope she really prospers and does well. Go, Susan! Quote
