Members pino Posted June 6, 2009 Members Report Posted June 6, 2009 These are a few things I did lately, and before to discover this forum. You can tell it's a beginner's work but I'm very happy with the results, because basically I didn't now how to proceed, particularly for the canteen cover and the box. The hat band is a simple mistery braid and the tassels are made out of my horse hair. By the way, can anybody explain how to make horsehair tassel to look good? The guitar strap is for my friend Rick and, I'm amazed, the portrait looks like him. I took it from a picture. Well thanks for looking. Quote
MADMAX22 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Beginner lol, I would love to see your defintion of advanced. Great job all your stuff looks very good. Quote
rickybobby Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Nice Work!! The figure carving of your friend is really good, figures are tough even for folks that have been tooling leather for a long time. You have a talent for it right off!! Quote
rhall Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Great beginners work! I would say the best thing to improve on would be Edging, check out the thread on burnishing the edges,I don't see any thing terribly wrong and I am doing some canteens right now, so I know how though they are.Finnish on the edge will make the dif. Good Luck! Quote
