Roger Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 This project has taken quite a bit of time! I was supposed to get to this one back in march but, had too many issues with my day job and the ol's health. it's been hard taking care of the jobs i have coming in and catching up on overdue stuff. i am finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! anywho... this seat has 1.5" of push added along with a polymer insert the p-pad also had a polymer insert. both are mexican round braid laced. the bag(s) the large one is 11" wide 12" tall and 5" deep. it's fully lined, reinforced ans saddle stitched. i also made a mold and wet moulded the gussets. the small bag (tool bag) attaches to the large bag with pull snaps so it is removable. it is also lined, reiforced and saddle stitched with the gussets wet molded in a plywood mold. i am rather happy with the bag as it is the first i have done like this and the first one to be completely saddle stitched. i hope to start the dye work some time today. i have another set (seat and p-pad) with the seat getting a polymer insert to start today and have back in the mail by next weekend so the dye work will be done inbetween. the tooling will be black with the rest being faded from buskskin to mahogany to saddle tan. David Theobald thanks guys!!! the seat was not bad at all. the bag had taken me quite a bit more time than i expected but, i kinda made it up as i went. the main part of the bag is about 10' of saddle stitching and i was supprised to be able to knock that part of it out in 5 hours or so. i can saddle stitch at about 2' an hour right now Hello Roger, this is very clean, fine leatherwork and a eyecatcher for any bike......... I'm curious how it looks as it finished.... Greetings Johann thanks Johann! should be finished up some time next week. Quote

Members CitizenKate Posted July 9, 2009 Members Report Posted July 9, 2009 Very nice, Roger! Love the coloring you did on this. I always think of you guys here on LW who do custom bike seats whenever I see those gorgeous bikes out there with those pathetic stock seats. Kate Quote

Kate.... i feel the same way.. especially when they have put out way too much money for a mass produced "custom" seat. a one of a kind bike should have a one of a kind seat Quote
