Moderator Art Posted September 16, 2009 Moderator Report Posted September 16, 2009 You got that right, now they're locking-up chickens, what did they ever do to anyone, maybe lay some bad eggs? Hmmmm, how long a sentence do you give a chicken for killing (and eating) worms, grubs, corn? In PETA's mind it would be, I guess 6 years, that's a life sentence isn't it? This line of thinking could go anywhere. Someone make Coq au Vin. Art Why wonder about a bunch of nut case wack jobs!? Now excuse me, I'm making chicken caesar salad for lunch. Quote

Members cem Posted September 18, 2009 Members Report Posted September 18, 2009 Can you tan and tool chicken skin? Just curious Dave Nah the majority of it would be too thin the only bit suitable would be at the back of the thigh bones and it isn't that big, has a bumpy texture as well. Quote
Members Double U Leather Posted September 18, 2009 Members Report Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't some of the cheap, south of the border saddle makers use chicken rawhide to cover their trees? I'd swear I've seen a rawhide wrapped tree using chicken. Maybe not. Edited September 18, 2009 by leatherrookie Quote
Members cem Posted September 20, 2009 Members Report Posted September 20, 2009 Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't some of the cheap, south of the border saddle makers use chicken rawhide to cover their trees? I'd swear I've seen a rawhide wrapped tree using chicken. Maybe not. Rawhide would be possible just not stuff for carving, one of my first jobs was to debone chicken and pull the skin off for it to be trayed and sold in the supermarket. I hated the skin part cause if you didn't grab it right you would slip and wrench your wrist. Quote
