dirtclod Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Leather Roo that is neat design you have on the seat and it looks great. I have a question did you dye around the skull and horns with a brush then use a dabber or sheep skin piece to dye the rest ? I have tried using a brush to get up close on designs and it was a PITA..LOL. Quote

Yes, i used a brush to do around the tan edges using the black and then a piece of sheepskin for the rest of the area...the brush part takes FOREVER... It can only be done very slowly and i use a magnifying headpiece with a light. I can only get a good result since investing is some very very good russian sable brushes...i have three sizes ranging from very very very small to very small... lol.......they have been a very good investment and i cant believe how good they are too use. cheers Quote
MADMAX22 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Yep if your not throwing your brushes away after every use it makes life so much easier to get a good quality set. I think your cat has claimed the seat for itself lol. Quote
David Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Hi all....a few pics of my latest seat...why do cats like to sit on leather?????????? Probably because she is aware how great all her white fur looks against the black leather.....makes her eyes stand out too. Roo, The seat is going to look great. Keep showing them off. Dave Quote
dirtclod Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Good brushes are something i need to get. I have to order just about every thing i need. Does anybody know of a good brand ? Quote
Ambassador leatheroo Posted March 11, 2010 Author Ambassador Report Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) try googling kolinsky sable brushes, kolinsky is the type of russian sable, not the brand...mine are Winston and Newton...be ready to spend some dollars..$20 - $30 each for the really small brushes. Members whinewine Posted July 2, 2011 Members Report Posted July 2, 2011 Roo- not to hijack the thread, but: Beautiful cat. Deaf? (they say blue eyes= deafness). I have one who's all white with 1 blue eye & 1 green & she's definitely NOT deaf. Great work on the seat, btw. russ Quote
