Members Rawhide Posted April 14, 2008 Members Report Posted April 14, 2008 Peter gave me permission to post this for your viewing. Marlon ...Hello, ...here is a blue, 1 1/4" belt (tapered to 3/4") just completed. This is filigreed (with raised filler) and has green snakeskin as a background. Again (and I don't know why), scroll cuts were requested for the back of the belt. It is laced with kangaroo, dyed blue. Peter Quote Marlon
Ambassador Beaverslayer Posted April 14, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted April 14, 2008 That's a beautiful belt, I really like the look with the scroll work on the inside. Ken Quote Beaverslayer Custom Leather<br />Wearable Works of Art https://www.facebook...erCustomLeather
Members anne newkold Posted April 14, 2008 Members Report Posted April 14, 2008 The scroll work in the insides of belts is something you will find that a lot of the Master Leather Artist do as a finishing touch to their belts. Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted April 15, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted April 15, 2008 I hope I'm not missing something and misspeaking here, but....with the scroll work on the inside of the belt, doesn't that make it reversable? Ambassador freak Posted April 15, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted April 15, 2008 Wow !! i can see why people want the scroll cuts, they look fantastic. Thanks for sharing , Quote It takes more then one freak to have a true freakshow. So take a seat , the show is about to start. Check out the freakSHOW
ArtS Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 It isn't reversible. It might be if he had used Chicago screws instead of snaps. It helps keep the belt from slipping, but mostly it's for looks. ArtS Quote Art Schwab "You cannot teach a man anything. You can only help him discover it within himself." – Galileo Galilei

Members kseidel Posted April 16, 2008 Members Report Posted April 16, 2008 Carving the lining on the inside of a belt makes the belt more flexible. I thought of it as purely decorative for years, then discovered that one could make a thicker belt with a carved lining wear as comfortable as a thin one.
