...Hello,

...here is a blue, 1 1/4" belt (tapered to 3/4") just completed. This is filigreed (with raised filler) and has green snakeskin as a background. Again (and I don't know why), scroll cuts were requested for the back of the belt. It is laced with kangaroo, dyed blue.

That's a beautiful belt, I really like the look with the scroll work on the inside.

The scroll work in the insides of belts is something you will find that a lot of the Master Leather Artist do as a finishing touch to their belts.

I hope I'm not missing something and misspeaking here, but....with the scroll work on the inside of the belt, doesn't that make it reversable?

Wow !! i can see why people want the scroll cuts, they look fantastic. Thanks for sharing ,

It isn't reversible. It might be if he had used Chicago screws instead of snaps. It helps keep the belt from slipping, but mostly it's for looks.

Carving the lining on the inside of a belt makes the belt more flexible. I thought of it as purely decorative for years, then discovered that one could make a thicker belt with a carved lining wear as comfortable as a thin one.
