Members particle Posted July 15, 2010 Members Report Posted July 15, 2010 Can I make them or does I have to change someting? Mr. Ghormley would be proud. That's a nice looking holster, but I would ask him personally if you are concerned about copyright issues. My thinking is that if you paid money for his pattern, you have a right to produce holsters for profit from that pattern. Obviously you can't sell the pattern, but I don't see any problem with selling the holsters you make from the pattern. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Quote
Ambassador abn Posted July 15, 2010 Ambassador Report Posted July 15, 2010 Yes make sure that you make a Right and Left Holster LOL Sounds like something I would do -- make two righties for a double rig! Ha! I knew there was a reason I'm not a holster maker... Quote

David Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Hey Bob, Very nice holster, I would have no fears about selling the holsters....now putting the name 3:10 to Yuma on them.... or Hand of God rig.... that I'm not too sure about. Perhaps call them a facsimile of the holster seen in the movie ..... that implies they are not identical. But that's going to be a rig to be proud of. What kind of sewing machine? Dave Theobald Quote
Members mugwump Posted July 16, 2010 Members Report Posted July 16, 2010 it looks cool... are you going to leave it that way (color) or are you going to dye it black (or vinegaroon) it? just curious... but it looks cool the way it is... eric Quote
Members hivemind Posted July 16, 2010 Members Report Posted July 16, 2010 Aren't the bottoms of holsters usually left open for drainage? Quote

Members WillGhormley Posted August 5, 2010 Members Report Posted August 5, 2010 Hey Guys, I'm sure my dad, Mr. Ghormley would be proud. I'm proud of you too Boothill, you've done a great job. And, I made the patterns available so folks could make and sell their own reproductions of the movie rig. There are some very specific hidden things I did on the movie rigs, so no one can ever pass off a cleaver copy as one from the movie. I don't know that there would ever be any legal problems with "Hand of God", or "3:10 to Yuma", unless you were trying to pass off fakes. But even then, who is goin' to sue a poverty stricken leather crafter? There's no money in that! I wouldn't worry about legalities. Will Quote
Members Swordsmyth Posted August 8, 2010 Members Report Posted August 8, 2010 I think you have some great holster making skills. Could you tell me what type of hand sewing thread you use? Thanks for the great picks and help. Quote
