TomSwede Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Me to, sorta'. I'm not very good at it but learning more and more but so far I prefer to do the mexican round braid to edge burnishing. The skull bracer was just wet polished edges whilst tooling it since I was so anal with the painting on this one I couldn't give more time to it. That doesn't show much when antiquing comes on but I have to practice with the brush and spirits. Tom Quote

I've had some mild success putting a piece of card between the pieces of leather when hammering the rivet. Same technique is used for peening rivets in plate armour. It gives the leather a bit of play and worked really well for a pair of gauntlets i made with 2mm leather. Quote
