Members secondcrk Posted May 19, 2008 Members Report Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) I see alot of people out there having trouble with the Big Artisans! I have been to to many shows where the people selling them ( won't metion any names) can't even get them to sew! I have sewn an all the big stitchers, Hook and awl and Single needle. My opinion, for what it is worth, is buy an Adler 205! New or used. A little more money, but you get what you pay for. I have ran or worked in shops for 30 years and thats what I own! Thanks Edited May 19, 2008 by secondcrk
Artisan Dave Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Needless to say, I and all of us at Artisan strongly disagree with the above post. I am rather suspicious of this post as well - because not only is it not true, it has been posted merely to cast doubt on an entire line iof machinery that already has an outstanding reputation. Frankly, it should be deleted by the moderator.
Members Kevin Posted May 19, 2008 Members Report Posted May 19, 2008 Dave, I would say let it stand. As soon as peopleget home from work and see this, you will get tons of GOOD testimonials. Kevin
Moderator Johanna Posted May 19, 2008 Moderator Report Posted May 19, 2008 I'm not going to pretend to discuss sewing machines intelligently, but I can say that Artisan has exceptional customer service. In the last two years I have read many posts praising the staff at Artisan from people satisfied with their purchase. Frankly, I think this post is a little suspicious too, and I would ask the OP to please provide an example or a specific reason for "name-calling" or this thread will be closed per forum rules. In the meantime, I'm letting it be for the reason Kevin pointed out- the members of this board are obviously pleased with Artisan and will set the record straight. Contributing Member Regis Posted May 19, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted May 19, 2008 The person apparently registered just to take a jab at artisan as competitor or ex-emplyee or something. I am one very very happy customer with my Atrisan Torro 3000 plus the outstanding service I get on every call or email with Artisan. Thank you Steve, Dave, and the crew at Artisan. Moderator Art Posted May 19, 2008 Moderator Report Posted May 19, 2008 Hello Secondcrk, We need some answers here. If you are going to bash a particular vendor, I think a little more than innuendo is necessary. A few facts might be in order. What promulgated all of this venom about Artisan machines out of the blue? Who are you that we should give any weight to your comments? Who are all these people having trouble with big Artisans? Who, pray God, are the vendors who can't get a big Artisan to run at a show. I have seen machines that had a bad casting and didn't run well, but nobody is going to bring something like that to a show. Even if a machine was sick, the guys who sell at shows can (most of them) take a machine apart and put it back together blindfolded....with one hand. The idea that any of the prominent vendors would have a machine that is working incorrectly at a show is just ludicrous. OK, I have three Artisans (two big ones and one medium), two Pfaffs, a No.9, a Campbell, 3 Singers, and have owned and used Ferdcos and yes, an Adler. These are and were (don't have and Adler or Ferdco currently) great machines, all of them, and I beat the crap out of one of the big Artisans set up for high speed work. Just so you know where I'm coming from. The folks at Artisan are pretty darned good at working with customers who a lot of the time are new first machine owners without a clue, and I know a few of these folks right here on this board who are having good experiences with their machines. I couldn't let your post go unanswered. Please don't attack anyone's machinery if you don't own it, and then if there is a problem, work with the vendor before coming to this board and bad mouthing something for some reason we are unable to fathom. Art I see alot of people out there having trouble with the Big Artisans! I have been to to many shows where the people selling them ( won't metion any names) can't even get them to sew! Members carver Posted May 19, 2008 Members Report Posted May 19, 2008 first time I have replied to anything on this site ............. but this person is FULL OF SOMETHING . I bought a artisan 3000 a few months back and it is a GREAT MACHINE does everythig I ask it too and more than they said it would . I find myself self going to my shop just finding stuff to sew because its so easy to use and does such a nice job.this thing will sew a single layer of suede then turn around and sew a saddle skirt with very little adjustment NO frustrations with this machine EVER !!!! I havent found a retailer out there selling ANYTHING that has better or actually even comes close to providing better service . Its NOT a GREAT MACHINE for the MONEY........... its a just a GREAT MACHINE PERIOD. And the service is so far ahead of other companies it has made my other encounters with other retailers disapointing because they dont even come in a close third or fourth place. This person could not have EVER even tried using one and if he had and had trouble I PERSONALLY gaurentee the company would have it rectified immediatly no matter what it took to straighten it out

ArtS Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 I love my Artisan. If I ever need another sewing machine it will be another Artisan. Not only are the machines good but their staff is excellent!
