BearMan Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Hi Everybody, I hope everybody had a Great Thanksgiving! Here is a Coaster Set, I finished a few days ago. They are about 4" square. As you can see there are 4 different patterns, with different colors. They are lined on the back with some oxblood colored upholstery leather. The broken/injured knuckle is starting to get a bit better, but still had an Oops with the background dye on the holder. Thanks for looking,,, Ed the"BearMan" Quote
gtwister09 Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Ed, Really glad to hear that the knuckle is doing better. A great gift for someone. Regards, Ben Quote
Members Spinner Posted November 25, 2011 Members Report Posted November 25, 2011 Busted knuckle or not, this is a good looking set! Quote
MADMAX22 Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Looks great Ed as always. Know how ya feel, think I broke my hand about week and a half ago, still waiting for it to heal so I can properly push a round knife. Sucks when its your dominant hand that gets screwed up. What do you like to seal yours up with. Quote
Tinneal Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Those are beautiful! What do you finish them with? I would be terrified to use such beautiful coasters for fear of actually spilling something on them! Also, I noticed the "oops" on the holder, but only after you mentioned it. Don't worry about it! It's what sets handmade work apart from factory and gives it some character! (Or at least that's how I justify any "oops'" i end up with.) Quote
BearMan Posted November 25, 2011 Author Report Posted November 25, 2011 Hi Everybody, Thanks for all the wonderful compliments!! Tinneal,,, I first apply a coat of "NeatLac" style finish, then a coat of TanKote, then, some clear shoe polish. They won't be water proof, but they will be fairly resistant. Take Care,,, thanks for lookin',,, Ed Quote
hidepounder Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Great coaster set, Ed! Bobby Quote
Members Wishful Posted November 30, 2011 Members Report Posted November 30, 2011 I was wondering if the flower (is it an orchid?) pattern is from Tandy pattern or? My mother loves them and I would like to make for her. Quote
