Members $$hobby Posted January 27, 2012 Members Report Posted January 27, 2012 i enjoyed the show. and i also miss riding alot and those horses that have taught me alot and those that are alive and those that are not. Whats nice is that if i need my "horse fix" i can go up to one of the boarders' barn and get my fill. Quote Riding is a partnership. The horse lends you his strength, speed and grace, which are greater then yours. For your part you give him your guidance, intelligence and understanding, which are greater then his. Togeather you can achieve a richness that alone neither can. - Lucy Rees, The Horse's Mind
Members Leather Girl Posted April 17, 2012 Members Report Posted April 17, 2012 I love animals, all animals and my two very favorites are horses and cats . I love horse the smell of them, their velvet noses and lips and I love kissing them. From the time I was very young I loved horses and I was the only one in my family who was horse crazy. When I bought my horse and had subsequent babies they were a huge joy in my life. I ended up showing them and training horses along with dogs and cats(showing). Horses are amazing they carry their weight and you and equipment too. I had taught my horses to kiss and people who say they can't see in colour are nuts. Every time I had or came up in a different car they would not come to me until I walked up to them. One time another boarder and I had the same car different colours but they came to my car and not hers. Once a year my horse would throw me, she knew when I was not paying attention. She would then stand and laugh at me but I loved them so and everyday I miss them and think of them. It has been 25 years since they have been gone. If you love horses you will always love them. They are a noble and beautiful animal who will always have a piece of my heart. I have not seen war horse and that is because I know I will cry all the way through the movie. Contributing Member Ferg Posted April 17, 2012 Author Contributing Member Report Posted April 17, 2012 Randi-Lee, I have a grand daughter in Agriculture College now. She has loved horse since she was a little girl. Her dad says she will need to stick with their Boer Goats until on her own. LOL I have many great memories of growing up with draft horses. You love them, take care of them, they will work without any argument and Love you ten times over. Our big black Percheron colt use to tease me all the time. I was short, only about 12 or 13 years old, he was a good 15 hands. Every time I tried putting a halter on him he stood on my foot, just enough to keep me down. ferg I love animals, all animals and my two very favorites are horses and cats . The one riding it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice he judges and goes to war. Yes, there are horses in heaven. Good thing too or my wife would switch sides Dan Quote Dan Busarow dan@fishcreekleatherworks.com http://www.fishcreekleatherworks.com/
Members Leather Girl Posted April 18, 2012 Members Report Posted April 18, 2012 Dan, I would switch sides too. You have some gorgeous horses, maybe I will come your way this summer and relieve you of a few. You would never miss them. When I was little there would be horses in a field and I would tell my mother that I had to take them home because they were all alone and no one owned them. Randi-Lee Quote To some, I'm a dream.
