Members tatehunt Posted February 13, 2012 Members Report Posted February 13, 2012 This one is for me. A Stanley Mouse nod (one of my favorite graphic artists), and a bit of Sailor Jerry carvings thrown in. My first time coloring with acrylic, wanted more of a rough and tumble rock-n-roll distressed feel instead of neat and clean. It is all hand stitched, and I used a mix of tooling and pyro on the skeleton on the back, and parts of the crown for extra shading. Pics Continued... Interior Quote
Members tatehunt Posted February 13, 2012 Author Members Report Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks. I finally got the good camera back from being repaired, so no more iphone pics. Quote

Members tatehunt Posted February 14, 2012 Author Members Report Posted February 14, 2012 Great detail Always get a kick out of seeing sailor gerry's stuff used today - I've got one of his pieces on my arm from wayyyyyyyy back ;0) I love his bold lines and clean style. I had always wanted to do some of his art in leather, but needed to wait until doing a piece for myself, as I would never resell his artwork and violate copyright. Happy to say, I think his work looks great on skin, dead or alive. Quote
Members McJeep Posted February 14, 2012 Members Report Posted February 14, 2012 Hmmmmm, I'm not really sure if there would be copyright things to deal with - I've seen alllll kinds of tattoo artists using his flash art before Quote

Good to know if someone requests it in the future. Quote

Members tatehunt Posted February 20, 2012 Author Members Report Posted February 20, 2012 Nice job on that - I especially like the asymmetric front flap. Thanx for sharing! Thanks for looking and commenting! I was looking to something a bit different with the front, hence the asymmetry. Glad you liked it. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 20, 2012 Members Report Posted February 20, 2012 Great job on the bag. I've been looking at it for days getting technique ideas. In regards to the copyright issues, remember people pay for the flash designs which gives them the license to use it in their tattoo art. So, if you've paid for the flash sheet - no problems. But, if you found the design on line, I'd say good call on reserving it for your own stuff. Quote
