Bronson Report post Posted June 28, 2012 Good to know. I wasn't too happy with the vinegaroon experience because of this same issue. I'll have to give it another go....I hate being patient Bronson
chiefjason Report post Posted July 7, 2012 Yes, it sits after the last rinse and before the oil. To be honest I oiled some before and that seemed ok to. The main thing seems to be not to apply the finish or bend it before it sets. Mold and bone before vinegroon or after didnt seem to matter. Just finished up a couple hybrids. I grooned, let them set 24 hours, Oiled and let set 24 hours, then applied 2 coats of Mop and Glo with a rag and no grey. Looks like that may be the trick. Glad I did not throw the Mop and Glo out. mattsh Report post Posted December 18, 2012 For those that use the Mop & Glo finish -- have you ever dipped your holsters in the 50/50 mix ? If not why? Is there a reason not to dip the holster?
J Hayes Report post Posted December 19, 2012 FWIW I was told to dip them in the 50/50 M&G, seems to work for me. Now I don't have a ton of stuff out there being worn daily. My personal holster is worn daily for 10 months or so now and it seems good to me, it is showing wear but I'd expect it to. Seems to leave a decent sheen, not shiny but just a nice sheen, also its an IWB of horsehide with a light coat of neatsfoot oil then 24 hour dry then a dunk in M&G .
