Members serena Posted July 22, 2008 Members Report Posted July 22, 2008 I'm new to leather working and I'm having a hard time finding things for my projects, so can anyone please tell me, where do I find metal letters for putting someones name on a leather choker? I tried looking but I'm having no luck at all, as the kind that I'm thinking of look like the spots in Tandys catalog that have the metal blades that fold over to secure it to the leather. I appreciate any help. Thank you, Serena Quote

Contributing Member Jordan Posted July 22, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted July 22, 2008 The only letters I have seen are designed for belts which are probably too large, You may find some at places like Joannes Fabric or some other craft type store Quote

Members McJeep Posted March 25, 2009 Members Report Posted March 25, 2009 Did you have any luck with this? I've been searching all over with no luck today - need to find the same type of thing to use on dog collars. Have found a local puppy boutique joint that's interested in helping me pay my mortgage ;0) Not the work I "want" to be into but if it'll put $ in the account it's all good Quote "I gotta have more cowbell!" Members Paula C Posted April 12, 2009 Members Report Posted April 12, 2009 I've ordered from Fire Mountain Gems for years, they have a fantastic catalog with all sorts of initials and letters on beads you could use. I think they're one of the bigger bead suppliers on the net. Order a catalog, it's like christmas all the stuff they have that you could put on your leather projects to add some detail. Here is the link to the pages with all the alphabets. http://www.firemountaingems.com/alphabet_beads.asp They range from 14K (cha ching) to silver, pewter, etc. Good luck. -paula Quote “Carving is easy, you just go down to the skin and stop”. - Michelangelo
Suze Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I'm not real sure but I thought I saw something like that for scrapbooking. try looking at sites that sell the "bedazzler" and if you send for Firemountain gems catalog give someone your credit card -- it is easy peasy to run up a massive bill.... Members kevinhopkins Posted April 13, 2009 Members Report Posted April 13, 2009 Hi...it might be worth a call to my daughter.... she runs the bead and jewelry section of our store, and she buys from about a zillion people like fire mountain. If she, (or Mary) can't help you, then I think you're in for a difficult time. I think you're onto a good idea, and I'd certainly be interested in selling those little letters if you ever find them.
