Ken Nelson Report post Posted October 14, 2012 Is there such a thing as a dedicated bobbin winder that will work with the 441 type machine bobbins and is anyone using one they would recommend? Jake I built my own, used a motor and control off of a household sewing machine, I used included belt and put it with an industrial bobbin winder. I built a thread stand for it and it is fast and you can do a great job of winding bobbins with it. If you like, I can take a picture of it and send it to you. Mine is mounted on a board, on the side of a cabinet next to my sewing machines and I wind both Cobra Class 4 and M size bobbins on it. I hardly ever use the winders on my machines. HTH. Techsew Ron Report post Posted October 14, 2012 Since the short arm version of the 441 clone doesn't have a built in bobbin winder like its long armed brother, we just install a bobbin winder for shuttle bobbins on the table. It's just as effective and you can wind bobbins while you're sewing. Ron
SooperJake Report post Posted October 14, 2012 Ken, Yes, I'd like to see a picture. Ronnie, it's the "while you sew" part I'm trying to get around. My Cowboy will wind while I sew, but I wanted to avoid that aspect if possible. Jake
Gump Report post Posted October 15, 2012 There is a modified stand alone bobbin winder on e-bay under industrial sewing that could be exactly what your looking for. It is powered by a domestic machine motor. Currently at $15.50. Gump.
