Hillbilly tim Report post Posted April 24, 2013 Hello all, I'm looking for anyone with firsthand real world use knowledge of the Tech-Sew 2700. I'm considering their machine but wanted to hear from users. Yes, I have watched the video. Is the 2 layers of belt material bring sewn represent the maximum realistic load to be sewn on this model? Is there a better alternative? I dont want to sew 1oz stuffs but may want to sew a little heavier than what is shown in their videos. Ideas because my hands cant handle sewing these collars and leashes much more. Thx Bro Tim
Ferg Report post Posted April 24, 2013 Realistic thickness is 3/8". Foot lift is about 7/16" to 1/2". Will sew with #207 thread in top with 137 in bobbin. Preference? #137 max and will sew very nicely with #92, #69. I do not sew with anything less than #69. Wallets, purses/handbags, chaps, belts, and lining leather with some critical tension adjustments. I find any machine that you have setup for 1/8" to 1/4" leather thickness wil need readjustment of tension for thinner material. ferg

Thx Bro Tim Hi Tim, for sewing 2 layers of belt leather I'd recommend having us add a speed reducer onto the machine for you. The 2700 would be fine for sewing collars and leashes. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Ron
