Leather Sheath For A Smith&wesson Survival Knife

Hello,

I want to show you some of my latest Leatherworks. My latest sheath was made for my old and rare Smith&Wesson Survival Bowie. I love these typical Randall-Style Sheaths...so I have tried to do it in the same way. The second one is a sheath for a very nice Blackjack. I hope you will enjoy it. Sorry for the horrible english- my name is Danny and I am coming from northern germany.

Hello,

thank you all for the comments! The last one is my favourite too...so here is another sheath for an old Buck Frontiersman. For me, it wasn`t easy to do do the carving pattern by my self (I am really not an artist with the pencil :-)).

Looks great. I like the channels you cut for the button studs. What did you use to punch the tiny hole at the end of the slit?

Hi Black Rivet,

the bigger hole is made with a 4mm (dont know that exactly in inches) punch, used with a press. Than comes the Cutter to do the little slit. After that, I have made the very small hole with an 1,2mm drill at the end of the slit. I have tried this special punch with two holes on each side, but the result was disapointing me a littlebit. So I do it in this easy, durable way.

I presume that the rectangular pouch on the outside of the S&W sheath is for a sharpening stone? It looks too wide to be for a folding knife...

But I got a question: How do you finish all 3 layers of knife sheath on first picture' How do you finish welt (as it's got holes at the bottom) the same way as top and bottom layer?

Very nice work, Danny, clean and elegant. The carving is very well done, for someone who claims to be not artistic you've done an excellent job (just wish I was as good).
