Beautiful work and I love the horses design..

What thickness/weight of leather was that...I want to make similar bag at some point (with celtic dogs not horses, mind), and I'm new to working leather so I'm unsure what sort of weight I should buy...

Thanks all! This one is getting some nice attention it seems. Glad I could pass along some inspiration.

@ScotsPagan this leather was some chrome tanned cow hide I picked up. It's really nice stuff and I seem to have bought the last side of it when I went to get more the other day. I think it's in the 4-5 oz range. Fairly soft and flexible but seemed to stiffen a little due to the way I constructed the bag (with the seams being sewn and three layers for the back side).

Can't wait to see your bag with the tooling. I'll keep an eye out for your post.

Heh, be a while yet, I have a knife-sheath kit sitting looking at me right now, then I want to try a wallet and I think 4-5oz would be too much for a wallet, so it would be at least 2 leather purchases down the road...but thanks...I'm stickied here now so I can refer back..
