esantoro Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Great pictures, MArlon. Thanks. By chance, were you able to check out Artisan's 20" splitter? Ed Quote http://www.waldenbags.com http://www.waldenbags.etsy.com
Members Rawhide Posted October 5, 2008 Author Members Report Posted October 5, 2008 David, They were only judging saddles and boots. The other items were just displays. I tried to get a shot of all of them, but I know I missed some. Ed, I did see the splitter, but not in detail, Sorry about that. Marlon Quote Marlon
Members Go2Tex Posted October 6, 2008 Members Report Posted October 6, 2008 Sooo.... who won the saddle contest? I had to leave early. It's a 6 hr drive and I didn't want to spend another night in that dump of a motel I had. By the way, if you ever go to the Wichita Falls show, do NOT stay at the Ramada Inn Limited. It's NOT a Ramada. It's a DUMP and they closed the pool eventhough it was 90 degrees out. Quote Brent Tubre email: BCL@ziplinkmail.com
Moderator Johanna Posted October 6, 2008 Moderator Report Posted October 6, 2008 Marlon got me the pics (he is far more computer savvy than he lets on!) and I will get them up and in a formal gallery ASAP. Thanks for everything, Marlon- you're a star. Johanna Quote You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. - Mark Twain

Members chocolateducttape Posted October 6, 2008 Members Report Posted October 6, 2008 On the subject of who won what, I just wanted to point out that the winner of the Beginner category (first of the saddles with the green tag- oak leaf pattern) is only 15 and did it all without any firsthand instruction. I thought that was quite an accomplishment. Quote
pabloz Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Hey Marlon, YOU ARE ONE SNEEKY MUG....you got a great picture of us and we would have loved for you to stop by the booth and chat. Contributing Member ClayB Posted October 6, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted October 6, 2008 Hi Marlon, I too want to thank you for sharing the pictures from this show. I know it takes a lot of time and patience to try and get pictures of all the entries and other things going on at a show and then get them up for the rest of us to see what we missed by not being able to be there in person. It is appreciated!!! Quote ClayB Badlands Leather Art blog Badlands Leather Art Website
Members Rawhide Posted October 6, 2008 Author Members Report Posted October 6, 2008 Johanna, It was all your coaching!! Paul, I did want to stop by and chat, but you had so many customers, it was hard to get to you guys. Looks like you generated a lot of interest. ClayB, You're welcome. Glad you enjoy them. Members BuckhornBrand Posted October 9, 2008 Members Report Posted October 9, 2008 Marlon, Great job with the pictures, my wife and I spent all Friday at the show and I came home with a new Artisan 3000. Sorry we didn't get to meet you. I did have the pleasure of meeting Troy West and John Watsabaugh. This was the first big show we've been able to attend and we had a great time- didn't want to leave. We live in Southeast Kansas, so on the way home Saturday we stopped by the Western Heritage museum in OKC and saw the TCAA display. Some amazing work. Between seeing that work and the work at the show, it was two days of great leatherwork. Go2Tex- sorry about the bad hotel experiance. That can definately ruin an otherwise fun trip. We stayed North of Wichita Falls in Burkburnett at the Hampton Inn. Only about 12 miles north of the show, small town and very nice hotel. As soon as I can get my wife's help- I'll get pictures of my last saddle posted. Chuck Norris Quote
