Really, a neat-O-idea, I need to make one of these Butt ends for mine too.

For only a second attempt, your tooling looks fine, stitching will get better as time passes too !

They say, Practice makes perfect, And it does. But, I still like it, as is !

I've been here for a while as a guest, but this was the first piece that I've felt like it was at least entry level acceptable. Still got light years to go compared to most of you artists.

I am going to make one of these in the future for a friend...my question is he wants a "cheek pad" on it..what should I fill this with?...close cell foam??? thanks for the replys.

I haven't made one with a cheek rest yet, but I did chop up a pair of cheap wlamart foam knee pads to give a little cushion underneath a cuff I made for the 12ga. I might give the other one a go as a cheek rest.
