Tosch Report post Posted October 31, 2008 I really like your style!!! BTW: since you mention "no handhole" - is there a real purpose for the handhole (besides ease of handling the saddle ?, does it really help in airing the horse's back?) ? Timbo Report post Posted November 1, 2008 Very cool indeed!!!! I like everything about it. It has a style all its own. Love the loop seat and high back cantle without cheyenne roll. The combinations you chose for this saddle work very well in my opinion. Good job and very original. Thanks for posting. Tim
Traveller Report post Posted November 1, 2008 wow, Steve, another beautiful saddle incredibly well done! My amateur eye sees a well-balanced saddle with a sense of calm about it, like everything is where it's supposed to be. As it no doubt is. Your shop, on the other hand, looks totally chaotic! Thanks for sharing, Steve.

Mike Craw Report post Posted November 1, 2008 Hey Steve! That's a beautiful job, and I'm sure your customer will be rightly impressed. Mike Traveller, As one who's shop sometimes looks a little like that, we prefer to think of it as "lived-in"...

Tosch Tosch,The first saddles I saw with no hand hole was in Idaho. It was first done to stop juniper needles getting against your horses back and also keeping the cold from coming up their. As to do we need to cut them? I think that is the customers preference. Steve

I think that is the customers preference. Steve Steve, When you construct a no handhole saddle is it just the seat that covers the area where the handhole would be or do you leave the groundseat material in that area as well? I ask the question because if you leave the ground seat material in that area it would seem difficult to put the screws into the skirt points in that area. Nice Saddle! Steve Brewer Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Gary The ground seat is not cut out.I nail my skirts by turning the saddle up side down.Works well on regular seats as well. Thank you Steve
pella Report post Posted November 9, 2008 That look nice!! Beautiful! I like this seat with no hand hole. A question i have about loop seat: I'm wondering if that part can tear over time if someone often push the stirrup on the front? Or the slot accomodate all the move? forward and back. Regardless of that question, i do think the loop seat look GREAT!
