mike6642 Report post Posted November 13, 2014 I just finished this belt , bought snake skin from ebay , had a belt cut to 4 oz. at springfield leather , and cut out pattern then laid it over 8 oz belt. I traced the pattern then put clear polyester resin from home depot on skin for protection. Glued skin on belt than stitched the two pieces together. the other belt was a copy from another member that he posted, I hope he don't mind, I would give him credit but I can't remember who it was but he will know if he sees the belt. snubbyfan Report post Posted November 14, 2014 Nice belt. I could just imagine how cool that'd look with a matching holster.

snubbyfan Report post Posted November 15, 2014 Do you have a picture of the knife sheath?
mike6642 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 here is the knife sheath that goes with that belt, thin horse hide cut out and two pieces of 8 oz leather hand stitched what you don't see and I'll try and find a picture is on the back there is two horizontal straps for shoulder carry and on those two straps are a vertical strap that allows you to carry knife low. You can take that strap off and carry belt high.

MonicaJacobson Report post Posted November 15, 2014 Very nice, Mike! I'm about to try a sheath in this style (minus the inlay), so it helps to see what other people are doing. I would recommend that you stitch around the inlay on the black leather as well, just to keep everything nice and tight as it ages.
mike6642 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 I was going to do that and got in a hurry to give sheath to nephew. I'll have to do, thanks for reminding ne
snubbyfan Report post Posted November 16, 2014 Very nice, I like that strap system. Personally, I prefer making stacked leather sheaths like that. However, it seems as if most of my customers prefer fold over style sheaths.
