Northmount Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 I've just recently completed a pair of bear skin chinks/chaps. I'm hoping the attached photo turns out. I've had some issues with resizing the photo. The bear skin my friend supplied was just, just big enough for the project. Thanks again to Oltoot for the hints. If your software gives you a choice, resize to 800 pixels wide or file size about 150 kB. This one is too small to see any detail. Tom Quote
Members RD Ranch Leather Posted March 15, 2015 Members Report Posted March 15, 2015 Well, I've tried resizing this pic again. Not sure I've got it right yet. I did say in my first post that I had completed these chink/chaps, but I do have some tweeking to do. He was to use them last week and then get back to me about adjustments, but I haven't heard from him yet. I'm calling them chink/chaps because they are chink length, but have a full wrap around leg. Then there's the issue of winter clothing and winter boots, so I think I may have some adjusting. Quote Prairie Skiver
Members lorenejackson Posted April 3, 2023 Members Report Posted April 3, 2023 (edited) Firstly, lambskin is known for its softness and lightweight feel. This makes it ideal for those who prioritize comfort while riding their motorcycle or horse. Lambskin also has a natural stretch that allows the material to conform to the wearer's body over time. On the other hand, bearskin leather chaps offer a more rugged look with thicker and heavier leather. They provide excellent protection against abrasions and punctures from branches or rocks while out on the trail. Bearskin is also more durable than lambskin due to its thickness. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your personal preferences and needs as a rider. If you value comfort above all else, then lambskin leather chaps for women and men would be perfect for you. However, if you require maximum protection during rides through rough terrain, then bearskin may be better suited for your needs. In conclusion, both types of leather have their advantages depending on what matters most to you when riding. Consider these factors carefully before making your final decision!
