Members Rohn Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 A couple of holsters I just finished. Dyed with Fiebings OX Blood dye. I think the one with the black looks better. What do you think? Quote
Members LLWork Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 I think I like the one with black also. It's a nice contrast. But the all Ox Blood one looks sharp also! Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 21, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 Thanks for the comment LLWork. I actually have an order for the one that is all Ox Blood. Quote
Members Troy Burch Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 I like the black contrast best but the ox blood is nice as well. I think it would really pop if antiqued with mahogany. Very nice Troy Quote
Members Hi Im Joe Posted January 21, 2015 Members Report Posted January 21, 2015 I'm going to go against the grain and say I like the all oxblood holster more! Both are very nice! Quote
Members thefanninator Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 Both look good. Gotta go with the black and the contrast though. I did a matching archery arm guard & quiver set once and I made the border match the double loop lacing. Maybe try a black border with the black lacing. Quote
Members camano ridge Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 Rohn, your ox blood looks good. When ever I try ox blood it always ends up looking pink. Quote
Members LLWork Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 Rohn, your ox blood looks good. When ever I try ox blood it always ends up looking pink. Mine ended up almost purple. Quote
Members billybopp Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 Fiebings ox blood is one of my favorite colors, and I often do contrasting colors just about like you have done. I like 'em both, tho! Bill Quote
Members Eddie1968 Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 both look great. nice work there Rohn Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 22, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 Thanks for all the great comments. The more I look at these holsters the harder it is to say that i like the one over the other. This is the first time I have used OX Blood but it will not be the last time. I ordered more today. Quote
Members stu925 Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 I definitely like the ox blood with black better. I like the contrast better. The ox blood looks nice on it's own but with the black looks a lot nicer to my eye. Stu Quote
Members Basically Bob Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 I like them both, Rohn. Great job! Quote
Members Halitech Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 as usual the work itself is great but I like the one with the black better. Just enough black to offset it enough that you can tell the main is ox blood but not too much black that you loose sight of the ox blood behind it. Quote
raysouth Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 SIMPLY SUPERB !!!!!!! Beautiful holsters. God Bless. Ray Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 22, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 Thank you Stu, Bob, Halitech and Ray. I really appreciate your nice comments. Quote

Members Wild Bill46 Posted January 31, 2015 Members Report Posted January 31, 2015 There is no better than the other, their both super great ! IMHO Their always great, in quality, and craftsmanship, now in multi colors, Still Super Great ! -------- Wild Bill46 Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 31, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks Wild Bill. I appreciate the positive comments and nice words. Quote
Members doubleh Posted January 31, 2015 Members Report Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) Great work. If I were choosing I would go with the oxblood one. Nothing wrong with the oxblood and black but I just prefer solid color holsters. I used to own a pair of cowboy boots with oxblood bottom and black tops. Boy, I though they were pretty and loved them but that's boots and not holsters. Edited January 31, 2015 by doubleh Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 31, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks Doubleh. After had had them dyed and finished I liked the one with the black trim better, but the more I looked at them the more I liked the all oxblood one. It seemed to grow on me. I guess it would be hard to choose one over the other for me now that I have had them around for a while. They are up for sale on ebay but so far no takers. Quote
