Wrench roll

Recommended Posts

Well the girlfriend found some upholstery leather odd lot at tandys for like $30 so we added it to the collection that day.

I was having a little artist/craftsman block the other day so she suggested making her a tool roll. Well I went ahead and did it and pretty much just made a copy of a canvas one she allready had.

Its all hand stitched and I tell you what my fingers are definatly broken in now. I wasnt trying to be pretty just utilitarian so the stitching aint perfect, the leather isnt the highest quality and so on ....

I cut the back square, cut a angled piece and folded the top just a bit and stitched, made the little spaces for the wrenches and stitched each one at a time to get the spacing right, then thru some neats foot oil on.

THe strap is the same leather 1" strip. Cut and stitched on.

I think if you have a sewing machine these would be very quick easy projects for people that are intereseted, if your hand stitching its kind of a nightmare and just good to practice.

Very nice, beautiful leather!!

About where to post, just put it in show off and the forces will sort it to a fitting category later on.

Great gift idea for that mechanic who has everything! You could kick it up a notch too by using veg tan for the back and do a little stamping or carving.

I made one sort of like that years ago out of denim. The only thing I would do different is roll it the other way with the small wrenches on the inside and the large ones on the end, but under the flap. That would keep the smaller wrenches from falling out.

Nice work tho! Bout time I made another one too lol. The denim is starting to wear out.

Great job. Its fun to do a "odd" project now and then. It frees your mind up to get back to the projects that NEED to be done!! lol !!

Nice work, Thanks for posting it!
