Simple complete, seat, side bag and a pouch... graphics based on tattoos... cheers, S How did you achieve the effect of engraving the bear claw into the leather? I really like the look. Quote
MADMAX22 Posted May 8, 2016 Report Posted May 8, 2016 Ya can get that look by either carving the outline, beveling inward, then back grounding the space inside of your outline basically or you can do just a backgrounding within your design and can get a similar look. Personally I find doing the carving then beveling inward and backgrounding to be the neatest look. Assume thats how he did it, I could be wrong. Quote
Members silkfatblues Posted May 8, 2016 Author Members Report Posted May 8, 2016 Madmax22 is right... I printed out the drawing (the pic of the guys tattoo), adjusted it to fit my design and the shape of the seat, and just used the tool that is usually used for background... Simple but effective... here is the previous work I did... Just a teaser for now cheers, s Quote
Members silkfatblues Posted June 6, 2016 Author Members Report Posted June 6, 2016 Hi all! here is another simple seat. This one was carved and engraved and then painted with acrylic paint. Then I used some sanding paper to make that red painted parts more interesting... cheers, s oh yes, and the wallet, simple but cool combo with the seat... Quote
bikermutt07 Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Your work is out of this world. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members JMWendt Posted June 6, 2016 Members Report Posted June 6, 2016 So I'm wondering about your technique on the corner of your attached front pockets. Can you describe how you do this? I don't understand the fold and stitching and would like to know more about the method. Quote

Ok, i will try to explain but I think photos would work better So, this small piece from the corner to the back is 1,5 cm wide piece of leather. You stitch that in to the corner and the stitches are obviously from the inside... Than you turn it upside down and use a hammer to flatten it a bit... Latter you can use water to reshape it and lacquering for water resistant stuff and so on... Hope I helped cheers, S Quote
