Windrider30 Report post Posted December 12, 2015 Not finished and this is the very first conquistador braid that I have ever done, wanted to try it...took nearly 12 feet of one piece of leather lace to do this bracelet...and it was still a tad short!!! I am thinking of adding a turks knot to cover both ends up...but first I have to learn how to do a turk's head knot wish me luck!!
LederRudi Report post Posted December 12, 2015 Nice! I'm thinking about doing a conquistador belt. For a start I`d use paracord I guess. A lace of how many times the length of your workpiece would you say you'd need?
Windrider30 Report post Posted December 12, 2015 The bracelet in the photo is 5 and half inches long (just the lace) about 3/4 inch wide that took me nearly 12 feet of lace oaracoed would be cheaper lol the lace it self is about half a centemeter wide

Windrider30 Report post Posted December 12, 2015 Thanks Grey and most welcome Leder I think that amount of lace will really depend on how wide your lace is.

KWosnig Report post Posted January 26, 2016 Nice braid. Am thinking of doing similar. Just a thought. For Spanish edge lacing, estimate 7 times length of braid, so just thinking the conquistador is similar looping, I am guessing at 7 times length and then multiply by number of runs, usually four. However, you could make it wider and have as many runs as you desire or can afford.
