Members FaireLeatherFriend Posted January 3, 2016 Members Report Posted January 3, 2016 Hi All! As this is the start of a new year and nothing has been new in here for a while, I am throwing up a new challenge to start the new year off right. This challenge will be creating smart phone case. Style, design, technique, use of color and uniqueness will all be noted. Challenge will be due January 31st and all entries must be in before midnight. And GO! Quote
NVLeatherWorx Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Do you mean something like this? Did this one over a year ago. Quote Richard Hardie R. P. Hardie Leather Co. R. P. Hardie Leather Co. - OnlineR. P. Hardie Leather Co on Facebook

Members Halitech Posted January 4, 2016 Members Report Posted January 4, 2016 was thinking about this today, will see what I can come up with Quote Every day you learn something is a good day. If you don't learn something every day, was it worth waking up for?

Members Halitech Posted January 8, 2016 Members Report Posted January 8, 2016 Here is what I came up with. 6oz back and middle, 4oz for the card slot. Dyed with oxblood and black antique. Hand sewn with black waxed polythread from Maine Thread Co. Fits up to a 2.75"x5.25x3/8" phone. Quote Every day you learn something is a good day. Rossr Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Ok so I took the challenge. Pretty basic, dyed with black and mahogany colors, sam brown stud and belt clip. Stitched on a Campbell randall needle awl machine. Did some minor stamping on the fold over! Ross Quote
Thor Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Not much of a competition person myself, but I needed a new smartphone case anyways... I'll just add the pictures I took randomly. The quick snap in the back is covered by a strap which assists in pulling out the smartphone if needed. I didn't mold it much as I wanted the smartphone to sit in there tight. Now one can do all kinds of things and it won't drop out unless one actually pulls the smartphone intentionally. A more detailed explanation on it can be found here http://oldmillleathercrafts.thewesternsource.com/new-smartphone-sleeve/ Quote
Rossr Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Great looking work group! I feel I should go do some carving on another Quote
