Thefirst Report post Posted April 30, 2016 Im just curious, why is the trigger exposed? It looks like it was intentional, and thats usually a big no-no on holsters, otherwise something could snag it and fire a shot off into your leg.

Looks like a 1911 to me and unless the hammer is cocked, the thumb safety is off and you have gripped the grip safety you can yank on the trigger all day without it firing. That holster is more than safe for that gun. Being a single action hammer fired even if you managed to accidentally grab the grip safety, flip off the safety and accidentally get your shirt in the trigger the hammer would fall on the retention strap. Smart to ask about it though if you are just embarking on holster making! Do the same with a glock of other striker fired gun without a safety and I would agree with you... probably a bad idea. Alex What he said. It's designed for a Springfield 1911, cocked and locked. Besides, it's the design the fellow requested.

They would rack the slide on the draw. This is called condition II. Condition I is cocked and locked. There is a condition III. Mag in, round in chamber cocked but not locked. Yikes! If the user has some years cuddling up to a 1911, he is probably OK. I have carried a 1911 for 40+ years in Condition I. IMO, there ain't no other way to carry it. Forgot to tell a fellow WV that looks real good. Edited May 1, 2016 by Red Cent
