JerseyFirefighter Report post Posted May 24, 2016 So I was curious for those that bit the bullet and bought a Weaver EZ Edge Beveler. Was it a game changer for production? I feel like being able to bevel all 4 sides of a 72" strap at once would be AMAZING in terms of increasing efficiency. Aside from painting letters.. this is my biggest time suck. So I guess what im saying.. is that when you bought it was it a eureka moment about how your operations work, or just another $1300-1500 tool in the tool box. For instance their power burnisher for the price just doesnt do it for me since I use a sander and a burnisher in a drill press. I appreciate the insight from someone who made the plunge. Also any cons to the pros of owning this machine.
treyman Report post Posted May 25, 2016 We use it all the time. A great time saver. If you are doing more than just a few here and ther I would say get it. I thought it was under 1k when we bought it.

They're slamming retail clients at $1300 and wholesale is like $800. What a shot to the wedding tackle for unsuspecting retail customers.
Big Sioux Saddlery Report post Posted May 26, 2016 I finally bit the bullet two years ago, after having thought for years it was just too much money. It is one of the biggest time savers in the shop, and if I had bought it twenty years ago, I might have still better use of my hands than I do today. It came on sale and I decided I was going to own one. Even if you HAVE to pay retail for it, if you do much straight strap work, it will pay for itself in time saved (and also does a beautiful job) and reduced wear and tear on your joints. That is something I stress to folks doing this craft for a living. If you do it long enough, you WILL have problems with your hands. I wouldn't give up my EZ edger for love or money. Mike516 Report post Posted June 2, 2016 How much is this from Weaver please? I haven't set up a business account with them, I don't see a phone number on their website and they don't answer emails. Thanks.

bikermutt07 Report post Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) I was just looking at their site and they have one that makes the edge in 2 passes for less than half the money. I have no experience with either one but it's a great idea. Edited June 2, 2016 by bikermutt07
