Source for 135x16 LR #22

Recommended Posts

Just ordered a bunch of needles and stuff from Toledo, but Bob didnt have any size 22 135x16LR needles. I cant seem to find this size anywhere except one online store, but they only sell in packs of 100.

Any suggestions?

Out of stock?

I made the discovery that I could get 15x2 (leather needle for home machines, although sometimes advertised as 15x1 LTR) in 21 or 22 but not 19 or 20. Now I can imagine having a use for a #20, but not for a 21 or 22 on a home sewing machine.  I would think that a #22 for a leather machine would be in about the same gap. So, who knows what goes on in the minds of dealers?

I found 10 packs of system 29x4 at Wawak.com, in sizes 18, 22, 23 and 24. These are equivalent to system 135x16, with only minor differences. You would have to buy a few packs to make it worth the $4.89 shipping charge though.

Next find is at SuperiorThreads.com, who carry GB system 135x16 in size 22, in 10 packs, for $4.40 per pack, plus shipping.

On to eBay, we find a seller offering 20 GB system 135x16, in size 140/22, for $10.95 and free shipping.

Thanks Wiz,

The bottom two links are not LR points though. I have some #23 LR needles, but the hole kinda kills the slanted stitch effect on #138 thread. My machine won't sew 207.

GrayWolf, not every needle type is available in every size.

I sell the 15X2 in 16 and 18g because I need to buy 1000 packs of each at a time to get a good price. The supplier makes a 21 but not 22g. Even if they made 22g I would not stock in quantity because I would be wary about advertising them as they should only be used in an oscillating shuttle cast iron machine.
