Red Cent Report post Posted July 25, 2016 I need 1" black elastic band. I need really heavy duty stuff. Get my elastic from JoAnns but it tires rather fast. Does anyone know where I can get the real stuff?

Red Cent Report post Posted July 26, 2016 I make competition shotgun belts for the SASS cowboys. A top shooter has requested a special style and I want to make sure the elastic lasts.
rickdroid Report post Posted July 26, 2016 (edited) While having physical rehab on my shoulder the place I went to had some elastic strips of different widths and colors that were used for rehab exercises. They recommended that we purchase some of these to keep up the rehab at home. Based on their recommendation I found mine at a sporting goods store. These are pretty strong bands, about 3 to 4 ft. in length. The strength varies with the width of course. They come in several colors, no black though. Based on my use of them I think that they will last a very long time. Maybe these could work for you. rick Edited July 26, 2016 by rickdroid brevity of explaination
Dwight Report post Posted July 26, 2016 Red Cent, . . . that's cool, . . . never thought of that. I think the first place I would look would be for one of them nylon shotgun boleros some guys use, . . . holds 25 or so, . . . goes over the shoulder. Should be able to just trim out the length you want, . . . sew it at the top, . . . sew it at the bottom, . . . loops are already pre-formed, . . . and those would have to hold up I would think or they wouldn't be selling many of them. May God bless, Dwight PS: Rickdroid, . . . what store did you find that elastic in, . . . I'm looking for some for a special belly band I gotta make for a preacher. He's thinking he needs to carry, . . . but so that not even his deacons can see it.

RockyAussie Report post Posted July 26, 2016 Just a thought Red Cent I think if I had to do this I would make the elastic onto a clip strip that could then be replaced as a unit by itself. Advantage way cheaper to have spare wear part replaced. Elastic down on to webbing I'd say.
