Members Mattsbagger Posted April 10, 2017 Members Report Posted April 10, 2017 Sometimes I will take the bolt out and use a pistol grip style bar clamp. Sometim I just clamp it to outside of pony with same style clamp. Like when I do a bag. Anything I can get to work so I have 2 hands to stitch. Quote
NVLeatherWorx Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 It really isn't made for doing things like a bag or large items of that design; I too just lay the larger items on my table or my lap and just stitch away. It is much easier to control and work with a big item outside of a stitching horse. Quote Richard Hardie R. P. Hardie Leather Co. R. P. Hardie Leather Co. - OnlineR. P. Hardie Leather Co on Facebook
Members billybopp Posted April 10, 2017 Members Report Posted April 10, 2017 My Tandy pony has enough tension to use without the bolt for most things. Quote
bikermutt07 Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 I have only done one large tote and I laid it flat on my desk with a piece of granite on top. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members strathmoredesigns Posted April 10, 2017 Members Report Posted April 10, 2017 Thanks guys. Good ideas all around. I'll give them a try and see where I get. Quote
