NCArcher Report post Posted April 2, 2017 Besides a coupe of practice coasters the arm guards/bracers for my wife's Thorin Oakenshield costume were my first project. I've always done woodwork but lost my workshop when we moved to the city into an apartment. I was very bored and restless so my wife and daughter bought me a beginners kit from Tandy. That was about 18 months ago. Really enjoy leatherwork, still very much a beginner though.

Double Daddy Report post Posted June 28, 2017 I'm game...I'll kickstart this old thread :-) My first project (circa early/mid 2014) was some EDC leather for a buddy of mine...an IWB holster for a stainless Springfield GI 1911...dark brown with white thread...all hand sewn with border stamping and a custom heavy 1/8" Kydex clip (those FOMI things break when used on leather). Also made a snap-on double magazine carrier to match. The stitch line was a little off (as the senior posters on the forum here pointed out when I shared it back then) but I have since adjusted it for other builds and this rig is still in daily use and looks great. Not bad for a North GA hillbilly!

Rockoboy Report post Posted June 30, 2017 Some drink coasters made by my two nine year olds on the weekend with a little assistance from the old man. I did the dye-ing and assisted where needed.
