Does that INCLUDE a pump?  Seems pricey if the pump aint in there.

In pricing it says Super pump upgrade. $2.00 so I think it has a pump.

what you have found is a very basic system that would still need a vacuum pump capable of pulling a deep vacuum, there are other systems on the market that offer more than what is offered in that system.  What is going to be the most costly part if the vacuum pump, there are systems out there that will include a pump and a vacuum table like set up.  Wood workers are some of the craftsmen that started using those to help glue Formica to wood in all types of configurations.  I did Kydex for a short time and built a system that is similar yet a little different than what you showing and it works great but there are draw backs and some jobs need to be handled with caution, I almost punched a hole in the membrane while forming a holster for a six shooter.

Good luck

What about a clothes storage bag and a vac? The clothes bag already has a vac connection and is of thicker material.

Local shop to me sells clothes vac storage bags in various sizes for £1 [US$1.50?] for one or two - depending on size

What would you use it for in leather working?

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..

I wondered about those myself, however a vacuum is not going to provide enough deep vacuum that is needed to help do a vacuum form for a holster.  I could be wrong and if you keep searching utube you might find where someone has used a household vacuum to form a holster, and I think if it is much thinner leather it may work well, but it is when you get up to the 8-9oz leather that it will lack the power needed to get any decent results.

You haven't done it but it isn't going to work. That's almost as bad as passing along misinfirmation.
