What type of material is this? What is it called? I think it's a pleather of some type but I can't find it online anywhere. It's kinda spongy and about the thickness of a nickel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I agree, it looks like upholstery leather

Easy test; take a small cutting, use a match/lighter/candle to set fire to it - if it smells like burnt flesh you have leather, if it starts burning and giving off black smoke with small black sooty bits you have PULeather

Looks like upholstery leather to me. It should be chrome tanned.

I agree. It looks a lot like the Italian leather we use in quite a few of our tote bags.Sovereign is one that is of a high standard we use often. The agents in Australia have a pretty decent web site.http://www.leatherco.com.au/colours/upholstery-leathers/furniture-interior/sovereign/3/12/89

I did the burn test. It's  upholstery leather. Thanks everyone! This stuff is great for making tool rolls with. I got a bunch of it a long time ago at an auction with some leather tools. I've used all but a couple of pieces and want to get some more.

Where are you, how big per piece, and how many?  Do you mind green?  I have a bunch of swatches from furniture stores.  Well, probably from the manufacturer to send to the stores since they are all the same color green.

Frankfort, Indiana. I don't mind green at all. I landed some stuff today down in Indy that's really nice but the green has my attention for sure. Do you have a picture?

Sorry, been a busy few days.  Size is 9" x 13".  Two punched holes in the top for binding in store.  Colors are listed as Loden and Jade.  They also have a sticker attached on the flesh side.
