Hi

anyone know if this is a Pearson no 6 bobbin winder it has 6MH.170 stamped on base but there doesn't seem to be any way to secure bobbin in place ? Any ideas possibly something missing  ?

Thanks

looks like someone modified a #6HM winder for what ever machine - seems to be welded it in some spots...

It was a No6 winder but looks like this one has pins in the recesses where the pins of the No6 bobbin fits. Also looks like the sprung plate which keeps the thread neat on the No6 bobbin has been cut down and its lug moved along. There is now an extension spring between the plate and the hole where the gas jet once was.

Hi

Thanks so much for your replies . I just thought there might be something missing , would it be possible to return it to original purpose ?

Thanks

depends on your skills. This is how they should look when functional (though mine is missing the spool pin)

Hi

Thanks great job that looks so good now. Probably wouldn't have the skills to do it myself but a small engineering company possibly could
