Hello all! Just wanted to say what a great site and I am glad to be a member. There is so much info and great people I will be checking often. My name is Justin Davies and I live in Three Forks, MT. I was bit by the leather bug in 1998 and in 2000 started building saddles. The pic is my latest. I work part-time on a ranch/feedlot and part-time saddlemaker. My wife is an equine photographer and computer guru. (she pretty much has to help with these "new fangled computers") :blahblahblah: Anyway hope all had a great christmas and new year.

(I moved this from member gallery to saddle gallery as I hoped to get some critique. There seems to be alot of good ideas to gain from everyone, and as I'm fairly new to saddle building any comments are appreciated.)

Very nice saddle. Quick question. Are the angled welts harder to put in than the welts coming straitht down the side of the fork? I haven't put any angled welts in yet and am just curious. I am certainlly learning a lot on this great site. Thanks.

I think they are about the same, maybe a bit tougher. The only difference is be sure to pull the leather up around the bottom of the swells tight.
