Hey Rohn great looking holster what's the extra strap around the holster for? Is there just a belt loop on the back? Can we see a picture of the back?

Thanks!

He done took the words out of my mouth... or fingers, in this case.

The strap is to hold the loop in the back for the belt to go through.  I'll post a picture of the back so you can see what I mean.  I like this design because you can place or remove the holster from your belt without unfastening your belt.

Very nice! and I like the holster too

Very nice! And I agree, it's got a vintage look to it. I like the lacing, I have to stop talking about it and just do a holster in lace.

@Rohn

Real nice!  Super innovative design for the loop.

Love that lacing. Been wanting to try it on some projects. Can you recommend any books / resources for lace stitching guidance?

Cheers

Hi Matt, thanks.  I do a ton of lacing, mostly holsters. Here is where you can buy the instructions:

@Rohn, what color is that? Medium brown? It looks great and so does the sheath.

The dyed I used is Fiebings Professional Oil - Dark Brown.  Thanks for the nice comment.

Yeah man, it looks really good. I have Fiebing's Pro dark brown and it is almost black sometimes it's so dark.

Rohn nice job on that!  You got some really nice depth on the basket and I think the easy on and off design is a winner!!  Cheers!

Rohn, does that have a welt? It looks like maybe it's just large enough to not need one.

No the holster does not have a welt. It is not needed with lace.

Thanks! I'm going to do it. I've got a Ruger Single Six that is screaming for a holster, and it's time I got off the fence and laced one. Sad, 'cause I've got a Cowboy 4500 on the way!

Here is one I made for the Ruger Single Six with 6.5" Barrel.

Thanks! Looks good. Of course, now I can't do one with basketweave and camo border...hey, I've done enough holsters with that, I think I'll go crazy and do a floral carve on mine. It's been awhile.
