Scoutmom103 Report post Posted March 3, 2018 I have the opportunity to purchase a Singer 138W101 at a decent price. I found a copy of a manual for this series of machines, but have not been able to find out much information with searching about this machine. Does anyone have knowledge or experience of this machine and what it is capable of doing? I would be using it to do handbags, totes, backpacks, etc. I would also like to use it for shaving kits made with 8-9 oz leather for the sides and bottom (skived) and chap leather. CowboyBob Report post Posted March 3, 2018 Well it's a double needle so it has a wide foot on it because of the needle.I suppose there's times when a double needle would be handy on making straps(as long as it has a wider guage 3/8"to 1/2" in it) but when you take a needle out to use a single needle the wide foot will be in the way.
