Edge Creaser???

Recommended Posts

What exactly is an edge creased used for? I understand it should put a nice crease line along an edge but is it fully cosmetic? Is the a feature bonus to using one? Does my crease become my a stitch line? Am I to finish my edge before or after the crease? I am fully clueless on this tool, just needing info to find out what tools to purchase as all I have is from a cheap stitching kit off Amazon.

Most use a wing divider for the stitch line. An edge creaser is purely cosmetic unless you are using it as a border line for stamping and tooling.

Check out Amazon for this book.

This will give you a cheap look into what you may actually have to buy based on the type of leather work you wish to pursue.

And yes you can use a light crease as a stitching line.  You can apply a crease anytime it suits you in your work process.  Best to make sure you have the final edge you wish to follow.  It is a little easier to use the creaser before you use the edger as you have more depth on the side of the leather to help guide your creaser.
