Members ComputerDoctor Posted April 1, 2018 Members Report Posted April 1, 2018 Beautiful job and great trade work! It's funny to read this post and see the pictures because earlier today, I removed a new Tandy zipper from its package and tried to figure out how to use it and now you have shown me, by your very good pictures, how to accomplish the task:) Thanks! Members Tugadude Posted April 1, 2018 Members Report Posted April 1, 2018 (edited) Here is a pic of the inside ..... we can get too caught up with the lining and waterproof and spills. At the end of the day, it’s “patina”...... and the “spill” or small stain, may have a memory involved.... just my $.02 agreed. Mine is made exact same way and no issues after regular travel over two years. Here's a crappy pic that also shows my manicure case and my travel razor. Been wet shaving for a few years and absolutely love the Maggard's travel handle. Edited April 1, 2018 by Tugadude Added pic Quote
bikermutt07 Posted April 1, 2018 Report Posted April 1, 2018 I think we sometimes forget that the things we are making are 10 times tougher than the stuff we can buy. Great looking kits, guys. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Members charon Posted April 4, 2018 Members Report Posted April 4, 2018 I totally agree on the patina and story point, and also agree with bikermutt. It was more of a question since I have no experience with (veg tan) leather being exposed to water and moisture on a daily basis. My expectation was that it would rot from the (unfinished) inside. Good to hear that that's apparently not the case. Thanks for your experience and kudos to your Dopp Kits. Again those look great Quote
