dandspach Report post Posted March 29, 2018 I recently picked up a Nakajima TDU-N62 and need to find a couple parts: Lower needle thread guide. It is completely missing. Can someone suggest a replacement part? I've been searching for several hours online and can't seem to find one. Perhaps a generic part would work? Maybe something to fit the Singer 16-188 model? Replacement take up spring (after lower thread tensioner, but before the take-up arm). Again, something generic? Any links to parts would be much appreciated... Uwe Report post Posted March 29, 2018 (edited) Part numbers often work best when looking for replacement parts. Check the Nakajima TDU-N62 parts manual for the part numbers. Then you can contact Superior Sewing to see if they have the part, google the part numbers or try eBay for research. Available parts sources vary greatly depending on where on this planet you are located. Uwe Report post Posted March 29, 2018 Some parts are easier to make than to buy, especially for orphaned vintage machines. That thread guide is essentially a paper clip combined with some quality time with a pair of needle nose pliers. If you want to get fancy, get a thin stainless steel welding rod at you local welding supply store instead of a paper clip. The screw that goes with it is harder make and find. Hope it is a metric or common sewing machine screw, otherwise you may be, well, out of luck.
shoepatcher Report post Posted March 31, 2018 I think that machine was renamed after Juki bought Nakajima. Not sure. I can't remember the number of the machine now. Anyone out know? glenn
Uwe Report post Posted March 31, 2018 This is the only Nakajima->Juki cross reference I know of. Unfortunately the TDU-N62 is not on this list .
jrdunn Report post Posted March 4, 2022 I know this is an old thread but I need a parts manual for a Nakajima TDU N62(Rex 26-188), please. The link in the above post that @Uwe provided opens a tab, then closes it immediately. I don't know if it is broken or a compatability issue. Many thanks! Offers to download the file, and I get a warning it is from an unreliable source. Anyhow, here is the file for you and any future people looking for it. jrdunn Report post Posted March 4, 2022 @Northmount, Thank you very much. I assume that my antivirus didn't like it. JM2C, Jim

JM2C, Jim The entire problem with that link was that it pointed to http instead of https. I corrected the link so it opens or saves the file without a security warning. I downloaded it and it is safe.
