One of our customers wanted a Greek Medusa holster.  This artwork is from an historical relic carving and the lettering is an ancient alphabet.

That’s pretty cool Mike!  The leather is so grainy - what type leather are you using?

Mike, did I understand correctly that you use in this work a beveler without carving?

And I join Gary in the question of leather.

Looks very good!

Andrey.

Very beautiful cuts and beveling I admire and understand how much I still have to study and train.

@immiketoo I think @ABHandmade wanted to know if you recommend bevelling without carving on any project?

I do it all the time on fine details.  I didn't read his question like that though.  The runes are not cut, only beveled.

This is all my bad English :)
I was really interested in whether the beveling was used without a cut. Because I did not see the traces of a cut on the runes.
Mike confirmed that this is the case.
Thank you!

Do you see traces of a cut anywhere else?

Clearly expressed - no. But on the runes there is clearly a very smooth difference in heights, which is usually achievable only in the case when the leather is not cut. I wanted to check if my guess is correct.

It is exactly that I do not see any obvious traces of the leather cut and caused my admiration for your professionalism.
