I bought 20 sq.ft. of 3 oz. Alligator print leather and made a belt with 6 oz. Veg. Tan leather. Used crc spray adhesive which works great. The edges of the print leather can't be slicked down so I edged dyed then used mod podge which I then sanded and edge dyed again to get smooth edges.sewed with .8 mm tiger thread.

Nice looking belt.  I never heard of CRC adhesive - how does it differ from WeldWood or Barge contact cement?  Is it supposed to be as durable as either of these other adhesives?

Crc spray on contact glue causes no mess, like any contact glue it sticks well, don't buy cheap contact glue, 3m works well. No brushing and trying to get glue to the edges.  Just spray and put together.

Nice belt! How does the alligator print hold up over time?

When I still used glue for linings I used a number of industrial spray adhesives, especially the stuff used for headliners. I found handling long strips of sticky leather challenging!

I now use HeatnBond. No mess, takes 30 seconds to apply lining to the belt and doesn't fail. I am currently working on a commission for a belt line with suede.

Au contraire! I have been using the stuff for years. After spraying both sides, allowing to get tacky and then picking of large pieces of sticky lining and trying to line it up on the sticky leather making sure it doesn't fold over on itself or get misaligned, or the item touches some of the over spray. Then when the wind is blowing....

If you are going to use glue, industrial spray adhesive IS the way to go, but I can tell you, I have cut production times by 50% and spoilage to 0%.
